Two hundred years before the battle of the fortress, a young man named William Townsend had to die.
William had big plans. He would become a valiant soldier, fall in love, have a family, and die. In fact, he was certain it would happen in that exact order. But fate is a fickle taskmaster and things almost never go as planned. And sometimes, just sometimes, your true destiny will greet you after life.

My Thoughts...
Although only an extremely short story of 18 pages, this was still an exciting read, especially if you've read the first book Birthright.
I really enjoyed this book it is a great addition to the series and it definitely helped with my curiosity about these two.
This book is the story of how William the ghost in Birthright came to meet Angie the vampire, and how they came to be such good friends.
Michael also makes an appearance as Angie's protector when she spends some time away from the Fortress, where they come across werewolves and witches.
William and Angie are quite funny together especially when she's teaching William to sit on a sofa and such, they have arguments where William will disappear for a while but always comes back.
A great addition to this series, you don't really need to have read the first book to understand anything in this story.
I give this 4/5.
