I like unique names for characters and am looking forward to coming up with some when I start writing. What’s the most unique character name you’ve come across?
I would have to say Sirius (Black) and (Lord) Voldemort both from Harry Potter I can't see anyone ever naming their kids any of these two names.
New follower here! Well, Voldemort is a self given name. :P I sure hope that no one would name their child Voldemort... I've always been amazed by JK Rowling's naming skills.

Ha! True, true. You would certainly have to be insane to name your children that!

Hmm, Voldy? I can imagine Sirius being a second name at least. I've already heard someone named their baby Rohan :D I'm not kidding. :D Old follower :D My FF.
ReplyDeleteIt's always the names from books you love that you forget about here... I can see someone naming their child one of those names... *looks to friend who is totally obsessed with Harry Potter*.

Oh, you know there's going to be someone, someday, with the middle name "Hagrid" asking his parents, "WHY?". Thanks for visiting me!!! I pretty much put my post out and went to sleep (zzzzz) and I'm just getting around now :) Love the Valerius quote!!!!! I've got to get back into that series - last one I read was Bad Moon Rising (yep, I own every one!)

Ahhh yes, a lot of names from that series are odd! Took me forever to learn how to say Herminone! Did I even spell it right?! ;)

ReplyDeleteI love the name Sirius - probably because I love that character! Haha, it'd be pretty unfortunate if anyone ever called their kid Voldemort!
ReplyDeleteNew to your blog - I love the name of it, very appropriate! ;)

I picked Hermione as my unusual name for FF, but Sirius was coming in a close second. *Old follower*

Sirius Black is one of the names that I still pronounce differently from everyone around me. So when we are talking about the book I always have a moment of who?
