Feature & Follow Friday.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

What living author or authors would you like to have dinner with? (Try to think beyond JK Rowling)

So while my first answer would and always will be Stephenie Meyer, for something different I would go with J.R Ward (aka: The Warden), I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood (BDB) series and I think she'd have a lot of stories to tell, plus I could try to find out some tidbits from the next book!

Q: What do you do with your books after you are done reading them?
I pretty much keep my books, quite often I'll replace a paperback I've read with the hardcover because it looks prettier on my bookshelf and my sister gets all my paperbacks, she never has to walk into a bookshop she gets a lot of new releases after I've read them.

Q: WHAT BOOK DO YOU THINK EVERYONE SHOULD READ? IF YOU COULD GIFT THE ENTIRE POPULATION WITH ONE BOOK?

Well normally I would say the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, but for something different I will suggest a book from a genre that I was never really a fan of before this year (contemporary/romance) and that is: Beautiful Disaster - Jamie McGuire, I highly recommend this book to everybody!
I love me some Travis Maddox.

Q: WHAT IS THE LAST BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY? TELL US ABOUT THE SCENE…

The book would have to be Beautiful Disaster - Jamie McGuire.
The scenes after Travis and Abby broke up definitely had me in tears, including this line:
"And to the absolute fucking horror of losing your best friend because you were stupid enough to fall in love with her.”
Everybody needs to read this book, it's fantastic!

Q: Books are turned into movies all the time! Turn it around. What movie would make a great book?

I'm going to go with Titanic, the version featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
I'm already a huge fan of anything Titanic and so would love to read it as a book.

Q: What do you hope to accomplish with your blog? Is it to one day become an author yourself, just for fun, maybe get some online attention, or maybe something very different?

My blog initially is just to write and talk about books, not having anyone I know really read all that much I find my blog is an outlet for all book related things, and it helps to have people that are interested in them to chat to.

Q: What is the BIGGEST word you’ve seen used in a book lately – that made you stop and look it up? Might as well leave the definition & book too.

I can't recall any big words in any books that I've read lately and when I do find them I never bother looking it up in the dictionary anyway.

Q: What hyped up book was worth all of the fuss?

I recently finished reading Storm (Elemental #1) - Brigid Kemmerer
OMG! Has there ever been so many hotties in the one family all in one book?
I love everything about this book/series.
Well worth the hype!

Q: What hyped up book do you think was not worth all the talk?

I don't think that I've ever read a book that has been totally hyped up that I didn't like, Bloodrose - Andrea Cremer was one book I didn't like but I don't think it was necessarily what you would call hyped up.

Q: Best Cover? What is the best cover of a book that you’ve read and didn’t like?

Well I have a few, but the one that I was most disappointed in which had a gorgeous cover was:

Bloodrose (Nightshade #3) - Andrea Cremer
I loved this series but was sorely let down by this third and final book in the series.

Q: What blogger inspires you? It can be any kind, it doesn’t have to be a book blog.

I wouldn't say that I've been inspired by just one blogger but by a whole heap of you, when I decided to start up my blog it's because of all the different blogs I came across that were so interesting and well put together.

Feature And Follow Friday (38).

Q: What would you do over if you were to start your blog again from scratch?

I don't know if there would be anything I would change really, the fact that I've gotten this far and have managed to get my blog up and running especially when I've had to teach myself how to do a lot of things on the computer in setting it up has made me pretty happy.

Friday 3 August 2012

Feature And Follow Friday (37).

Q: Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?

My mood doesn't affect the genre of what I read, as long as it's a good book I can read it through any mood swing.

Thursday 26 July 2012

Feature And Follow Friday (36).

Q: Summer Reading. What was your favorite book that you were REQUIRED to read when you were in school?

Sadly enough I honestly can't remember any books I was required to read at school, so the only thing I'm taking away from that is, obviously I didn't like any and they left no impression whatsoever!

Feature And Follow Friday (35).

Q: Christmas in July! Someone gives you a gift card for two books (whatever that costs). What two books will you buy?

I would pick Significance - Shelly Crane (just found this on Goodreads today, it sounds really good!), and Harry Potter Stage To Screen: The Complete Filmmaking Journey - Bob McCabe I've wanted this for so long but it's so expensive!

Feature And Follow Friday (34).

Q: What drove you to start book blogging in the first place?

I used to visit all these different blogs and one day I thought you know what, I love reading why don't I start a blog of my own. Another reason was that no-one else in my house really reads so I don't really have anybody to talk to when I find something really exciting that's book related.

Q: Jumping Genres: Ever pick up a book from a genre you usually don’t like and LOVE it? Tell us about it and why you picked it up in the first place.

I never really read straight up Fantasy books, but years ago back when I was in primary school we had a school fair and they were selling cheap books, having read everything in my house I picked this up and thought I'd give it a go, and I absolutely loved it!
All together there was 13 books including or to do with the series and I've read every one, and loved them all!

Pawn of Prophecy (The Belgariad #1)

Long ago, so the storyteller claimed, the evil God Torak sought dominion over all and drove the world to war. Now the one talisman keeping this sinister force from seizing power has been disturbed—and no one will be safe. . . .
Raised on a quiet farm by his Aunt Pol, Garion spends his days lounging in his aunt’s warm kitchen and playing in the surrounding fields with his friends. He has never believed in magic, despite the presence of a cloaked, shadowless stranger who has haunted him from a distance for years. But one afternoon, the wise storyteller Wolf appears and urges Garion and his aunt to leave the farm that very night. Without understanding why, Garion is whisked away from the only home he has ever known—and thrown into dark and unfamiliar lands.

Thus begins an extraordinary quest to stop a reawakened evil from devouring all that is good. It is a journey that will lead Garion to discover his heritage and his future. For the magic that once seemed impossible to Garion is now his destiny.

Q: Q: Birthday Wishes — Blow out the candles and imagine what character could pop out of your cake…who is it and what book are they from??

Not that this should be a shock to anyone who knows me or has read previous answers on Feature Friday but I would chose Edward Cullen from Twilight, my infinite book crush, he can watch me sleep anytime! *wink, wink*.

I'll follow back even if I already follow you I'll just use a different way of following.
Thanks and enjoy!

(WHEN DID YOU START BLOGGING?)
I only started blogging October of last year, I used to visit all these different blogs and one day I thought you know what, I love reading why don't I start a blog of my own.

(WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF BOOK BLOGGING?)
I love the fact that there are so many people interested in reading that are also reading the same genre's as I do, I'm the only person who reads in my house so it's nice to be able to communicate with people that share the same passion for reading that I do.

(WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK(S)?)
For anyone that visits my site during Feature Follow Friday most of the questions are answered with using my favourite series Twilight - Stephenie Meyer, the reason I got into the paranormal genre was because of Twilight, I also love Harry Potter - J.K Rowling, The Mortal Instruments - Cassandra Clare, The Black Dagger Brotherhood - J.R Ward I could go on and on.

(WHAT HAS BEEN THE BEST THING THAT'S HAPPENED TO YOU BECAUSE OF BOOK BLOGGING?)
I think that there's a lot of things not just one, I love it when an author sends me a message asking me specifically whether I'd review a book for them, or people that want me to take part in blog tours it makes it even more special when it's a publisher asking you it makes me feel like I'm doing something right and I feel extremely grateful, when I started this blog I never expected it to go as well as it has especially since there are so many other blogs out there.
And all the people you meet while blogging is fantastic, but mostly it's just people care enough to leave comments on your posts, I think it's the best decision I've ever made starting up this blog.
Oh and one of the best things so far is being a feature on Feature Follow Friday!

Here is the weeks question, answer it in your post.
Q: If you could "unread" a book, which one would it be? Is it because you want to start over and experience it again for the first time? Or because it was THAT bad?
Ok I will probably have quite a few people disagreeing with me about this but the one book I would unread if I could would be "Lord Of The Rings - J.R.R Tolkien".
I really didn't like this book I found it boring and unfortunately I'm one of those people that has to finish a book, this is one case where I definitely thought the movie was way better than the book.

Feature And Follow Friday (30).

Q: Happy Father’s Day! Who is your favorite dad character in a book and why?

I would definitely say Charlie from Twilight, he's funny and witty and you can also see how much he loves Bella.
