So Pretty.

Book Review (8).

Assault

(Recon Team Angel #1)

The story starts off in 2030 most of the world excluding New Zealand And America (which are now called free territories) have been taken over by aliens called Bzadian's.
They came claiming peace but instead plotted to take over the world and wipe out all of humanity, Australia is their base of operations in particular Uluru in the Northern Territory.
Six soldiers from around the world have been trained to imitate the Bzadians to infiltrate and take them down.
The big mystery is what is hidden inside Uluru , the soldier's task is to find out and then destroy it.
Then of course their is a traitor in amongst the six soldiers and I have to say I never guessed who it was and I was shocked when it was revealed.
But the biggest shock was the ending I never could have guessed at what was inside Uluru it was certainly a big surprise.
If you like a lot of action, gun fights, espionage, deceit and shocking reveals this is the book for you.
I give this book 3.5/5

Chisnall tried to move his arms.
The right one responded, but there was no movement from his left, if it even still existed.

After Obsession

Age Appropriate: Young Adult
The story takes place in a small town in Maine, Aimee lives with her Dad, Gramps and younger brother Benji, her best friend Courtney's Dad has gone missing (presumed dead) in the same river outside Aimee's house that her own Mother died in when Aimee was younger.
Courtney's Aunt Lisa and cousin Alan move in to help them so they don't lose the house, Alan is half Navajo and it's his spirit guide who helps him and Aimee defeat the evil that is the River Man who's evil taints everybody in town and at times inhabits Courtney's body.
I loved Alan and Aimee as a couple their gifts (Aimee has prophetic dreams) balance each other so well.
It was original, fast paced, exciting and I didn't want to put it down until I'd finished it.
There was only one problem with this book and that is it's a standalone book, and I would have loved to have read more about these characters. Highly Recommended. 5/5

Musing Mondays (3).

Musing Mondays Is Hosted By MizB At Should Be Reading.

Would You Say That You Read About The Same Amount Now As When You Were Younger?
More? Less? Why?

I probably read more when I was younger, when I was at school I used to win awards at school for reading the most books in a year.
Between work and everything else I don't read as much as I'd like to, when I get the chance I can read a  500 page book in a day, this year I joined the Goodreads reading challenge and have challenged myself to read 250 books this year, so far I've read 211 which is the most I've read in some time.
