Katelyn McBride’s life changed in an instant when her mother died. Uprooted from her California home, Katelyn was shipped to the middle of nowhere, Arkansas, to her only living relative, her grandfather. And now she has to start over in Wolf Springs, a tiny village in the Ozark Mountains. Like any small town, Wolf Springs has secrets. But the secrets hidden here are more sinister than Katelyn could ever imagine. It’s a town with a history that reaches back centuries, spans continents, and conceals terrifying truths. And Katelyn McBride is about to change everything.
Broken families, ageless grudges, forced alliances, and love that blooms in the darkest night—welcome to Wolf Springs.
My Thoughts.
The story starts in the midst of an earthquake in California which kills Katelyn's 'Kat' Mum, so because her Father is also dead she is sent to live with her Grandfather in Arkansas in a small town called Wolf Springs.
Her Grandfather's cabin is in the middle of the forest with no one else around for miles and she's told not to venture into the forest or be outside in the dark.
Her first day there she is introduced to Trick a boy her age who will be picking her up every day for school, Kat is attracted to Trick but on her first day she is assigned an assignment with a girl called Cordelia who warns her off Trick, even though she acts very weird herself and someone else warn's Kat about Cordelia.
Two girls are mauled and killed and Kat finds out there are wolves in the woods and that is what killed the girls.
We have our obligatory love triangle involving Trick (who is definately hiding something) and Cordelia's cousin Justin who has no problems making out with Kat even though he has a girlfriend.
I did really like this book and it leaves you with plenty of questions which I hope will be answered in the next book.
I give this 4/5
